Kim Garth holds a unique claim to fame as the only woman to have played international cricket for both Ireland and Australia.

Born in Dublin to parents who both played cricket for Ireland, Garth made her debut at just 14 years old and featured in three World Cups for Ireland before deciding in 2020 that it would change her life.

Having tasted life in Australia through WBBL stints – playing for Sydney Sixers as an associate rookie before earning full contracts with Perth Scorchers and later Melbourne Stars – Garth decided to walk away from Ireland and pursue the chance to be a full-time cricketer via a Victorian contract.

She became an Australian permanent resident in 2022, allowing her to play in the WBBL as a local, and later that year became eligible to represent Australia. National selectors jumped at the chance to pick the right-arm pace bowler, including her in the T20 squad to tour India in December 2022, where she debuted in the opening game.

Her first Australian ODI call-up followed for the January 2023 home series against Pakistan, and she made her Test debut against England five months later.
