Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi has won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in the second ODI of the series on June 17.

“We will bowl first. The wicket is fresh, and it will spin in the first innings. It is not easy to beat top teams.

We played well in the first ODI, but our batters faltered in the latter half of the innings. All the players have a passion for cricket, and we are looking to improve every day,” Hashmatullah Shahidi said.

India skipper Shubman Gill would have bowled first as well had he won the toss in the second game. He is confident of putting runs on the board.

“We would have bowled first as well because of our team combination. It is important to perform in difficult situations. We should be good enough to post a big total and defend when needed,” Gill said.
