Delhi: In the first ODI played in Dharamshala, the Afghanistan team displayed aggressive batting, but due to the brilliant comeback of the Indian bowlers, the entire team was all out after scoring 194 runs in 24.5 overs. The biggest highlight of Afghanistan’s innings was the explosive century by opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who single-handedly challenged the Indian bowling attack.

Due to rain, this match was reduced to 25-25 overs per innings.

constant shocks in the beginning

Afghanistan did not have a good start. Ibrahim Zadran returned to the pavilion after scoring just 1 run, while Sadiqullah Atal was out without opening the account. After this Rahmat Shah also failed to play a big innings. The team appeared to be under pressure after three wickets fell on the score of just 26 runs.

Gurbaz and Shahidi took over the innings

Wickets kept falling at one end, but Rahmanullah Gurbaz along with captain Hashmatullah Shahidi took charge.

Both the batsmen kept the Indian bowlers away from success for a long time by adding 116 runs for the fourth wicket. Gurbaz batted aggressively and scored 102 runs in just 51 balls. His innings included 8 fours and 8 sixes. At the same time, Shahidi contributed 27 runs with patience.

Middle order could not take responsibility

Afghanistan’s batting faltered as soon as Gurbaz was out. Azmatullah Umarzai tried to score runs quickly by scoring 26 runs in 16 balls, but he also did not get a chance to stay at the crease for long. Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and other lower order batsmen could not make an impact.

The result was that the entire team folded before playing the scheduled over.

Great comeback of Indian bowlers

At one time Afghanistan’s score seemed to be crossing 200 runs, but the Indian bowlers made a brilliant comeback. Harsh Dubey sent three batsmen to the pavilion while taking wickets at important junctures. Gurnoor Brar also played an important role in wrapping up Afghanistan’s innings by achieving three successes. Nitish Kumar Reddy took two wickets, while Arshdeep Singh bowled effectively with the new ball and took two important wickets.

India has a target of 195 runs

Thanks to Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s century, Afghanistan was successful in reaching a respectable score. In this match of 25 overs, the Indian team will have to score 195 runs to register victory. Now all eyes will be on the Indian batsmen to see how they chase this challenging target.
