During an important press conference on Saturday, Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has officially confirmed that Neymar is not 100% fit for the match yet.

From June 14 Indian time (IST), Brazil will start its World Cup campaign against Morocco in the first match of Group C at America’s famous MetLife Stadium.

Just before the start of the tournament, Neymar suffered a calf injury during a training session, after which there was suspense over his play. Earlier, both of them had clashed in the 1998 World Cup, where Brazil had registered a one-sided victory of 3-0. In that match, the great Ronaldo Nazario and Rivaldo scored the first goals of their World Cup career.

Brazil have always been dominant against African teams in the World Cup, where they have won 7 out of 8 matches with the only defeat coming against Cameroon in 2022.

This match between Brazil, ranked sixth in the current FIFA rankings, and Morocco, ranked eighth, is also special because it is the only match in the entire group stage where two top-10 teams of the FIFA rankings are clashing with each other. Coach Ancelotti respected the opposition team and said, “Morocco is a team that can compete with anyone, but we have technical quality and experience. At this time, there is no one team favorite to win the World Cup, many teams will remain in the race till the end.”
