However, now Gurbaz has joined the KKR camp again and on Tuesday, he played the first qualifier match of the season as a wicketkeeper-batsman and played an important role in helping his team win.

The situation is that he is admitted in the hospital, but despite this, Gurbaz thought it best to stay with KKR and not with his mother in difficult times. Gurbaz said, 'My mother is still in the hospital. I talk to him every day, but I knew my KKR family would need me after Phil Salt left. So I came back from Afghanistan and I am happy to be here. My mother is also happy for me.

However, Salt had to return home for national duty in the middle of the tournament, after which Rahmanullah Gurbaz became the first replacement for Phil Salt as opener and wicketkeeper. Gurbaz's mother was ill and he probably wanted to stay with her. But when he felt that KKR family needed him, he returned back to India without any second thought.
