A resilient knock from Shai Hope set up West Indies to post a 7-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I match played at Kingston.
His unbeaten 65* runs off 54 deliveries has put the hosts on a 1-0 lead in the T20I series of Sri Lanka tour of West Indies 2026.
After choosing to bat first, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis opened the innings while Akeal Hosein opened the bowling attack.
The duo forged a 43-run partnership for the 1st wicket before the dismissal of Pathum Nissanka for 18 runs.

In the final over, West Indies completed the chase with four balls to spare. With a 1-0 lead in the series, West Indies will take on Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I on June 14 at Sabina Park, Kingston.
