Australia's women's team will be in the spotlight ahead of next summer's men's 150th Anniversary Test after Cricket Australia's fixture reshuffle.

The ICC's surprise announcement rescheduled next year's inaugural Women's Champions Trophy T20 from June to February, creating a clash with CA's planned ODI and T20 series against New Zealand. The White Ferns will now make two separate trips to Australia – three T20Is in October.

The final two ODIs will be played at Melbourne's Junction Oval in the days before the 150th Anniversary Test at the MCG.  Plans for England's Test side to have a day-night practice match at Junction Oval are not yet confirmed but are understood to be scheduled before the women's matches.

The original schedule had three ODIs and three T20Is against Bangladesh in October, but New Zealand has replaced Bangladesh for the T20Is. Australia will now play nine home matches next summer, down from the original 12.

CA's scheduling boss Peter Roach said the amended schedule "provides the best possible outcomes for the teams and fans."

"We're excited women's cricket will feature prominently in the lead-up to the 150th Anniversary Test with the historic first international match under lights at Junction Oval. "We are thankful to Bangladesh and New Zealand for their cooperation – particularly New Zealand for agreeing to travel to Australia twice."
