New Zealand captain Melie Kerr has moved back to the top of the ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which begins in England and Wales on June 12.
Kerr reclaimed the No. 1 position in the latest rankings update, overtaking West Indies captain Hayley Matthews. Matthews dropped to second place after missing her team’s final match in the recent tri-series in Ireland.
The race for the top all-rounder ranking remains highly competitive, with only five rating points separating Kerr and Matthews as the tournament approaches.
In the batting rankings, Australia’s Georgia Voll continues to hold the No. 1 position, while teammate Beth Mooney remains second. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur was the only player to break into the top 10, moving up one place to 10th following her unbeaten half-century against England in Taunton.
England batter Alice Capsey also recorded one of the biggest gains in the latest update. After scoring 82 runs and earning Player of the Match honours against India, she climbed 13 places to reach 30th in the batting rankings.
Several other players also improved their standings, including Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty, England’s Heather Knight and Scotland wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Bryce.
In the bowling rankings, England spinner Linsey Smith retained the top spot, narrowly ahead of Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal. England duo Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean both advanced into the top five, while South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba moved up to fifth place.
Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce also enjoyed a notable rise in the all-rounder rankings. Her performances during the recent tri-series involving Bangladesh and the Netherlands helped her jump nine positions to 17th.
With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup set to begin, the latest rankings highlight several players entering the tournament in strong form, while Kerr’s return to the top of the all-rounder standings adds another storyline to watch in the competition.
