Rahmanullah Gurbaz praised Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowling attack, claiming it to be the best in the current competition. At the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Knight Riders defeated the Sunrisers by eight wickets to advance to the final of IPL 2024.

Speaking at the press conference after the win, Gurbaz lauded KKR bowlers who attacked from ball one and dismissed SRH for 159.

“We bowled really well to bowl out a strong side like SRH. It was a good bowling effort. The surface was good. When I faced Bhuvneshwar Kumar there was no swing, and then I realized I should fire from the start. I prepared my mind like that,” said Gurbaz.

The Afghani keeper-batter termed KKR bowling unit as the best in IPL 2024.

“When we saw the pitch, we immediately opted to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad have a really dangerous batting unit. We wanted to contain them to a small score and we did it. They had a bad day today because in their good days they score big, like 250 plus. Since we have the best bowling unit in IPL, we were able to restrict them,” he continued.

He also lauded mentor Gautam Gambhir, co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, head coach Chandrakant Pandit, and for taking the pressure of him ahead of the high-stake game.

“You don’t have to worry about anything if your top management is as good as KKR’s. We have GG sir, Shah Rukh sir and our head coach, they are simply great. That’s all because of them, and they are family. I have not played in a while, and going into the playoffs put a lot pressure on me. They eased all of my pressure and instructed me to simply enjoy myself in the field,” he further stated.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the first team qualify to the finals of IPL 2024 and would face the winner of Qualifier 2 in the championship match on 26th May in Chennai.
