Virat Kohli security threat: The eliminator match is to be played today in the Indian Premier League 2024. The eliminator match is to be held between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. Actually, information about threat to the security of Royal Challengers Bangalore's veteran batsman Virat Kohli has come to light and in view of this, the Bangalore team has decided to cancel the practice session as well as the press conference.

Virat Kohli's life in danger

A report in Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika quoted Gujarat Police officials as indicating that the main reason for RCB cancelling their practice session and both teams not holding press conferences was the security threat to Virat Kohli.

Gujarat Police had also arrested 4 big ISIS terrorists at Ahmedabad airport on Monday night before the Qualifier 1 match. These four terrorists had reached Ahmedabad from Chennai and from here they had to go to the target location which could have been Narendra Modi Stadium but the Gujarat ATS team did a great job and caught all of them. These four terrorists had come from Sri Lanka.

Police searched the hideouts of the four terrorists and recovered weapons, suspicious videos and text messages from there. This information was shared by Gujarat Police with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. Although the Rajasthan team still did not cancel its practice session, RCB informed the security personnel that they will not participate in the practice session. RCB has not given any official reason for the sudden decision of canceling the practice session.

Gujarat Police officer Vijay Singha Jwala, while talking about the whole matter, said, 'After reaching Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli came to know about the arrests of terrorists. He is a precious gem of the country and his safety is our top priority. RCB did not want to take any risk regarding this. They informed us that there would be no practice session. On the other hand, Rajasthan team came to participate in the practice session but team captain Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ryan Parag and Yuzvendra Chahal decided to stay in the hotel.
