Hello and Welcome to all

One-off Test match between India and Afghanistan has seen the home team establish commanding position in the game. Day two began with Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant start well as the pair scored few boundaries. Azmatullah Omarzai was unlucky as he was twice denied a wicket in successive balls.

First a huge LBW call against Gill and then a caught behind off Rishabh’s bat. On both occasions the replays showed the decision was going in the bowler’s favour.

Afghanistan’s best bowler Mohammed Saleem Safi then got rid of India’s skipper and Dhruv Jurel, while Hasmatullah Shahidi dismissed the Indian wicketkeeper for 81. By the time India declared their innings on 564/8, Washington Sundar had scored yet another fifty with the bat while Safi ended up with six wickets.

Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal began well adding 28 runs for the opening wicket. Manav Suthar then broke that stand when he had Malik caught by Mohammed Siraj for 16 and Atal was cleaned up by Prasidh Krishna for 17 runs.

India’s debutant spinner ended the day with three wickets which also included the scalp of Afsar Zazai for two runs.

Veteran batter Rahmat Shah has held his ground and will resume the innings on 43. The batter went past 1000 runs in Test cricket to achieve a major milestone for his national side.

What can we expect on day three of IND vs AFG Test?

At 113/5 the visiting side just have Omarzai left with the bat while Sharafuddin Ashraf’s status is still unclear.

The player went off the park after getting injured while trying to stop the ball on the opening day of the game.

India will be expected to enforce the follow-on if they happen to dismiss the Afghans early. Krishna who has picked two wickets has bowled well so far and been at the batters with top pace while Siraj has looked a bit off-colour and will want to bounce back.

All eyes will be on Suthar who needs two more wickets to pick a fifer on his Test debut. The left-arm spinner has impressed everyone with his accuracy and ability to tie down the batters with his variations.
