Rashid Khan will miss the one-off Test against India as the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has decided to rest him from red-ball cricket, although he has been included in the squad for the three-match ODI series against India. Along with Rashid, star batter Ibrahim Zadran has also been rested for the one-off Test.
Bilal Sami, Nangeyalia Kharote, and Rahmanullah Zadran have earned their maiden Test call-ups.

The decision to rest Rashid for the rare one-off Test has been taken in order to manage his workload. In Rashid’s absence, Qais Ahmad is likely to spearhead the spin department alongside left-arm spinners Kharote and Sharafuddin Ashraf.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been overlooked for both squads.

Another notable exclusion from the ODI squad is Fazalhaq Farooqi.

Three players each have been named as reserves for both the Test match and the ODI series.

Hashmatullah Shahidi will continue to captain both the Test side, which takes on India in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10, and the ODI side, which will play a three-match series from June 13 to 20.
