Rajasthan Royals star batter Jos Buttler has backed England’s decision to recall players early from the Indian Premier League 2024. However, he said that there shouldn’t be no international cricket during the world’s premier franchise league.
Buttler and seven other players left before the end of the group stage, impacting several franchises. The teams of Jos, Will Jacks, Reece Topley and Phil Salt have qualified for the playoffs.
England will.play against Pakistan in the upcoming T20I series and the ECB wanted its ICC T20 World Cup 2024 bound players to compete in the games before the global event in the West Indies and USA.
“My main priority is to play for England as I am leading the side,” Jos Buttler said.
“According the me, there shouldn’t be any international cricket during the time of the Indian Premier League. I know the series against Pakistan was planned a long ago. It is the best preparation we can have for the T20 World Cup,” Jos Buttler added.
