IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by a huge margin of 55 runs in their last league-stage match of IPL 2026. In this high-scoring match, the Hyderabad batsmen thrashed the Bengaluru bowlers. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Hyderabad team scored a huge score of 255/4 in the stipulated 20 overs, in response to which Bengaluru team missed the target.

Ishan Kishan played a match-winning innings to help Hyderabad reach this big score. Kishan played a brilliant inning of 79 runs in just 46 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes, for which he was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’. Apart from Kishan, opener Abhishek Sharma played brilliant half-centuries of 56 runs in just 22 balls and Heinrich Klaasen scored 51 runs in 24 balls. Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy also made useful contributions in the end. Rasikh Salam Dar took two wickets for RCB.

Venkatesh Iyer (44 runs on 19 balls) gave a fast start to RCB while chasing the mountain-like target of 256 runs. Rajat Patidar scored a brilliant half-century and Krunal Pandya also scored unbeaten 41 runs on 31 balls, but they could not take the team across the victory line. Ishan Malinga took two wickets for Hyderabad, while Travis Head and 21-year-old young bowler Saqib Hussain got one wicket each. Saqib Hussain took the big wicket of the legendary Virat Kohli and after the match called it his ‘dream wicket’.

RCB at number 1 even after defeat, this is the equation of playoff
Despite this crushing defeat, Royal Challengers Bangalore remains on top (number-1) in the points table on the basis of better net run rate with 9 wins and 18 points in 14 matches. RCB will now face Gujarat Titans (GT), who are in second place with 18 points, in Qualifier-1. At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad team also stood third with 18 points (9 wins, 5 losses) and now they will have to play the eliminator match to remain in the race for the finals.
