Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj has had a tournament to forget in IPL 2026. He has conceded 34 sixes this season, the most by any bowler in a single IPL edition, surpassing Rashid Khan’s previous record of 33 set in 2025.

The low point came on May 15 against Lucknow Super Giants, where Kamboj became the first bowler in IPL history to concede four sixes in an over twice in the same match.

Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran both launched four consecutive maximums off him, as he finished with figures of 0 for 63 in just 2.4 overs.

He also equalled Yash Dayal’s record for most sixes conceded in a single IPL innings with eight.

Despite the struggles, former India head coach Ravi Shastri backed the youngster, noting that every successful fast bowler goes through such phases and that learning from them is what counts.

Kamboj, who was fast-tracked into the India Test squad in 2025 after claiming all ten wickets in a Ranji Trophy innings, remains a bright prospect in Indian pace bowling.
