He said, when I was growing up, probably when I was 12 or 13 years old, I tried for the first time in the Under-14 tournament but I was not selected. The reason for this was that I did not touch the selector's feet. From then onwards I had decided that I would not touch anyone's feet and would not let anyone touch mine. When I failed in my career, people used to say that you are from a well-to-do family, you do not need to play cricket. You have many options and you can take over your dad's business. This was the biggest assumption people had about me. People didn't realize that I needed more than that. I wanted to prove this notion wrong. So once I was able to do that, I didn't bother with anything else.
