Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Shivam Dubey and his wife Anjum Khan are reportedly facing online abuse and harassment following CSK’s elimination from the IPL 2024 playoffs.

CSK’s campaign came to an end with the defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday, May 18. While some critical comments towards the team’s elimination were expected, reports suggest Dube and his wife have been targeted with much harsher and personal attacks.

Social media platforms have allegedly been flooded with offensive messages directed at both Dube and Khan. These attacks go beyond fair criticism of on-field performance and reportedly include insults and threats.

Dube, a powerful hitter who performed brilliantly in the first half of the IPL 2024 season, struggled for run in the latter stages of the tournament. Therefore, he has seemingly borne the brunt of the online vitriol. However, his wife Anjum has also been inexplicably targeted in the online abuse.

There has been no official comment from Dube or the CSK franchise on the matter. However, it is expected that they will report the online abuse to the relevant social media platforms and potentially consider further action.

• Strike Rate: Dube has maintained an impressive strike rate of 162.30, showcasing his ability to score quickly.
• Highest Score: He hit 28 fours and 28 sixes in IPL 2024, with the best score of 66 not out against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
