Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star spinner Sunil Narine made a big record in his name with his tight bowling in the match against Mumbai Indians (MI). Even though he took only one wicket in this match, his biggest strength was his excellent economy. Narine spent only 13 runs in his four over spell and did not give Mumbai batsmen a chance to play freely.

New history created in the matter of economy

This was the 80th time in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), when Sunil Narine gave runs at an economy rate of 6 or less in his entire spell. This figure shows that he has been among the most effective bowlers for a long time who puts constant pressure on the batsmen.

Reached the top in the list of great bowlers

In the IPL, among the bowlers who have bowled spells of four overs at least 50 times in their career, Sunil Narine has reached second place in the list of bowlers who have had an economy of 6 or less the maximum number of times.

Out of his total spells, on 45.2 percent occasions the batsman has been able to score runs at an economy rate of less than 6.

In this special list, the name of great Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is registered at the first place. He kept the opposing teams to 6 or less economy in 48.3 percent of the spells of his career.

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn is at third place in this record list, who achieved this feat in 45 percent of the spells. Whereas, Indian leg spinner Amit Mishra is at fourth place with 43.3 percent.

Afghanistan’s star leg spinner Rashid Khan is at fifth place in this list with 40.3 percent.
