Delhi: Before the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudarshan has made it clear that the team’s entire focus is only on playing good cricket and winning the match. He said that at this time Gujarat is not thinking of increasing the net run rate by winning by a big margin, but the priority of the team is to perform consistently.

Gujarat has already secured its place in the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 and is now eyeing the top two positions in the points table.

Before the match to be held in Ahmedabad, Sai Sudarshan said that the team does not want to get entangled in any kind of calculations. According to him, the players’ focus is only on repeating those things which have been the reason for the team’s success so far. He said that if the team reaches a winning position, then definitely, like every team, Gujarat would also like to easily ensure a place in the top two.

Sai Sudarshan’s big statement on scoring 300 runs

There is a continuous discussion going on about the figure of 300 runs in IPL. On this Sai Sudarshan said that it is not easy to make such a big score in the current circumstances. He admitted that this season the pitches of many grounds have not been completely easy for the batsmen, due to which big scores have been less common.

Sai Sudarshan said that for a team to reach 300 runs, the batsmen will have to play aggressively from the first ball itself. Along with this, very poor performance of the opposing bowlers will also be necessary.

He believes that for such a big score, it is necessary for the batting unit to be completely successful and the bowlers to lose their rhythm. However, he also said that the figure of 300 runs may be possible in future, but at present it seems very difficult to do so.

Gujarat wants to leave behind the defeat from Kolkata

Regarding the defeat in the last match, Sai Sudarshan said that the team does not want to take the negative things of that match with itself. He said that Gujarat only wants to move forward by learning the necessary lessons and is looking at the new competition from a new perspective.

According to Sudarshan, the team understands the opposition bowling attack and their strategies very well, but every match is a new beginning. He said that the players want to come on the field with complete freshness so that the chances of victory can be further strengthened.
