Manish Pandey and Rovman Powell played match-winning knocks for the Kolkata Knight Riders in their crucial match in the India Premier League 2026. With their four-wicket win, the three-time champions are still in contention in the playoff race. Chasing 148, the host franchise reached the target in 18.5 overs. Pandey scored 45 runs off 33 balls, laced with 6 fours, while Powell added a 30-ball 40 to the total.

The West Indies batter smashed 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. The two added 64 runs for the fourth wicket, which proved decisive in the KKR vs MI match at the Eden Gardens.

Mumbai bowlers were brilliant in the powerplay overs, getting rid of Finn Allen. He managed 8 runs off 5 deliveries. When Ajinkya Rahane (21 off 17) and Cameron Green (4) were dismissed, Hardik Pandya’s team was in the driving seat. However, Manish Pandey and Rovman Powell kept the rival bowlers at bay, but their departure brought the excitement back to the clash.

Jasprit Bumrah undid Pandey while AM Ghazanfar added Powell’s scalp to his bowling figures. Tejasvi Dahiya (11 off 12) became Bosch’s third wicket of the match.

Rinku Singh (9) and Anukul Roy (4) remained unbeaten in the end.

Corbin Bosch took three wickets while Deepak Chahar, Bumrah and Ghazanfar sent back one batter each, respectively.

Earlier, Mumbai batters registered another below-par display in the 19th season. Ryan Rickelton (6), Rohit Sharma (15), Naman Dhir (0) and Suryakumar Yadav (15) once again disappointed.

Tilak Varma (20 off 32), Hardik Pandya (26 off 27) and Will Jacks (14 off 7) failed to convert their starts into meaningful innings.

Bosch’s cameo of 32 runs in 18 balls added some respectability to the overall total. He remained unbeaten and hit 3 fours and sixes.

Chahar struck two boundaries in his contribution of 10 runs in 7 balls as MI reached 147 for 8 in 20 overs.

Saurabh Dubey, Green and Kartik Tyagi picked up 2 wickets each while Sunil Narine claimed one scalp.

With their win, KKR have 13 points from 13 games, while Mumbai are on 8 points from 13 contests.
