IPL 2026, Mumbai Indians: In IPL 2026, Mumbai Indians team made a record in its name, which is being discussed in the entire cricket world. In the 65th match of the season against Kolkata, the team once again took the field with a new captain. In this match, full time captain Hardik Pandya returned and took command of the team. Actually, Hardik could not play in the last few matches due to injury. In his absence, the captaincy of the team was handed over to Suryakumar Yadav.
However, in the last match, Suryakumar was also not a part of the playing eleven, after which fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took the responsibility of captaincy.This happened only for the second time in IPL history
On May 10, Mumbai Indians played a match against RCB team. In this match, Suryakumar Yadav came to captain in place of Hardik. After this, Jasprit Bumrah took command against Punjab Kings on 14 May. But now Hardik Pandya has returned. That means Mumbai Indians have taken the field with three different captains in three consecutive matches. This is only the second time in IPL history that a team has fielded three different captains in three consecutive matches in the same season.
