Delhi: In the match played at Sawai Mansingh International Cricket Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals (RR) young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi dashed the hopes of victory of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with his explosive batting. On the basis of his aggressive innings, Rajasthan easily achieved the big target of 221 runs and registered a spectacular victory by seven wickets.
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 220 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs. For the team, Josh Inglis scored a brisk 60 runs, while Mitchell Marsh missed a century and played a brilliant inning of 96 runs. For Rajasthan, Yash Raj Punja bowled effectively and took two wickets.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave a stormy start to Rajasthan Royals while chasing the target. He maintained constant pressure on the Lucknow bowlers and played a explosive inning of 93 runs.
Apart from them, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 43 runs, while Dhruv Jurel scored unbeaten 53 runs and took the team to victory in 19.1 overs.After the end of the match, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant looked quite disappointed. He said that the team batted well, but he felt that 5 to 10 more runs could have been scored on this pitch. He especially praised the bowling of Joffra Archer in the last overs and said that he did the job of stopping runs at important times.
Pant admitted that on such a batting pitch there are not many options left for the bowlers.
He said that sometimes bowlers have to just adopt simple strategy and concentrate on every ball.The Lucknow captain also accepted the importance of experience in the team. He said that experience makes a big difference in pressure matches and it takes years to acquire it. Despite this, he expressed confidence that his team has the full potential to win the match.
Rishabh Pant finally said that even though the circumstances are not going in the team’s favor at the moment, the confidence of the players remains intact and Lucknow Super Giants still consider themselves a strong team.
