Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shines As Rajasthan Royals Seal 7-wicket Win Over LSG

A solid knock from Vaibhav Suryavanshi set up Lucknow Super Giants to a 7-wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 game played at Jaipur.

His 93-run knock off 38 deliveries, along with contributions from Yashavi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, has secured a crucial win for the side. With this win, the Rajasthan Royals moved to the fourth position in the IPL 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.

The opener duo made a solid start, dealing with fours and sixes. Despite using four bowlers, the Rajasthan Royals couldn’t restrict the run flow.

The opener duo maximised the powerplay, scoring 83 runs in the powerplay. Josh Inglis smashed his third IPL fifty on just 23 balls.

The duo forged a 109-run partnership for the first wicket. Yash Punja bagged the first breakthrough, dismissing Josh Inglis for 60 runs. He got bowled out on a length delivery which hit the middle stumps after the batter missed it on attempting slogsweep.

Nicholas Pooran, who came to bat at No.3, joined Marsh, aiming to set up a massive total against the Rajasthan Royals.

Soon, Mitchell Marsh smashed fifty off 22 deliveries, putting a base for LSG’s mammoth score.

Yash Punja bagged his second wicket, dismissing Nicholas Pooran for 16 runs. He got dismissed on a length delivery where he doesn’t get the timing, and Donovan Ferreira takes the catch at long-off.

Rishabh Pant, who came to bat at No.4, joined Mitchell Marsh in the innings as LSG cross 200 run mark. Pant made a crucial contribution of 35 runs before being dismissed on a runout.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh, who scored 96 runs, got dismissed on a runout, and Jofra Archer’s dismissal of Ayush Badoni for a golden duck has likely pulled back LSG’s score at Jaipur.

By the end of 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants scored 220 for 5 wickets with Yash Punja picking two wickets while Archer completed his spell with a wicket.

Chasing the massive total, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings while Akash Singh opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a solid start, posting 71 runs in the power play. However, Akash Singh bagged the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 43 runs.

He got dismissed on a full outside off delivery where it got edged, and Rishabh Pant picked the catch behind the wicket.

Dhruv Jurel came to bat at No.3 and played second fiddle as Vaibhav Suryavanshi brought his fifty in the 10 overs. The duo accelerated the innings quickly as the side cross 150 run mark in the 12th over.

Mohsin Khan bagged the wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 93 runs. He got dismissed on a slower ball just outside off, where he was caught out at long on by Abdul Samad.

With the dismissal of Lhuan-dre Pretorius for 7 runs on a run out, Dhruv Jurel smashed his fifty in the 19th over.

Rajasthan Royals completed the chase as Dhruv Jurel remained unbeaten with 53* while Donovan Ferreira contributed 16 runs.

Rajasthan Royals will play their next match against the Mumbai Indians on May 24 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
