India vs Sri Lanka: After IPL 2026, the players of the Indian cricket team are going to be seen in action. After the Test and ODI series against Afghanistan, BCCI has now finalized a new series. It is reported that BCCI has finalized the Test series to be held between India and Sri Lanka. It is being told that two matches will be played in this test series. The exact timing of both the test matches has not been decided but these matches will be played between 15th to 27th August. The importance of this series is even more because it is a part of the World Test Championship.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, the two-Test series between India and Sri Lanka will be played after the Lanka Premier League. The final of Lanka Premier League is on 9th August. Although the Indian team will also play a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka on the same tour, this has not been confirmed yet.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia is currently in Sri Lanka and it is believed that he may discuss the India-Sri Lanka Test series with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. Apart from this, the schedule of three T20 matches can also be discussed. Let us tell you that BCCI had promised the Sri Lanka Cricket Board that they will play the T20 series with the aim of raising money for the victims of Cyclone Ditvaha in Sri Lanka. But if a series of three T20 matches takes place, it will be held in September only and Team India is already very busy this month.
In September, the Indian team has to play a 6-match white ball series with Bangladesh, which includes three ODIs and three T20 matches. However, this tour of Bangladesh is still proposed. However, there has been no response from BCCI yet on the Bangladesh series. This series was to be held last year but it was postponed due to tension between India and Bangladesh. After the tour of Bangladesh, India has to play a home series with West Indies. Meanwhile, the Asian Games will be held from 9 September to 4 October. India also has to play a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan in UAE in September itself.
