Sports Desk. Rajasthan Royals have faced defeat against Delhi Capitals in their 12th match of the league stage of IPL 2026. With this defeat, the path of first edition champion Rajasthan Royals to reach the playoffs has become difficult.

Even though Rajasthan Royals had to face defeat in the match, the team’s opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was successful in registering a big record in his name. In the match against Delhi Capitals, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a stormy inning of 46 runs in 21 balls. In this innings he hit a total of three sixes. As soon as Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit the third six of his innings, he became the Indian batsman to hit the most sixes in a single season of IPL. In this matter, he destroyed the record of Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now hit 43 sixes in this edition of IPL. Earlier this record was in the name of Abhishek Sharma, who had hit a total of 42 sixes in the 2024 IPL season.

Virat Kohli has hit 38 sixes twice
In this case, at third place is Shreyas Iyer, who has hit 39 sixes in the last edition. Former RCB captain Virat Kohli has hit 38-38 sixes in the years 2016 and 2024. Suryakumar Yadav also hit 38 sixes last year. The record for hitting the most sixes in a single edition of IPL is held by veteran player Chris Gayle, who hit a total of 59 sixes in the 2012 season.
