Delhi: The 62nd match of IPL 2026 took place on Sunday, May 17, between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Where Rajasthan, batting first, had set a target of 194 runs for Delhi, thanks to the half-centuries of captain Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel. In reply, due to the brilliant half-centuries of KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel, Delhi defeated Rajasthan by 5 wickets in four balls.
Delhi has kept its playoff hopes alive with this win.Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Rajasthan had given the target of 194 runs to Delhi, thanks to the stormy half-centuries of Dhruv Jurel and captain Riyan Parag. Parag scored 51 runs in 26 balls. Parag hit 3 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. Whereas Jurel played an inning of 53 runs in 40 balls. Jurel hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Apart from this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 46 runs in 21 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. At one time Rajasthan’s score was 161/2 in 14.1 overs.
It seemed that Rajasthan would reach the score of 250 today. But Mitchell Starc put Rajasthan on the back foot by taking three wickets in a single over including Parag. Rajasthan could not recover from the shock given by Starc. Rajasthan scored 193 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rajasthan could score only 33 runs in the last six overs. For Delhi, Starc took four wickets giving a total of 40 runs. Madhav Tiwari got two successes. Starc was chosen player of the match for his excellent bowling.Delhi had a great start in chasing the target.
Team openers KL Rahul and Abhishek Porel scored brilliant half-centuries. Both added 105 runs for the first wicket. Rahul scored 56 runs in 42 balls. Rahul hit one four and three sixes. Porel scored 51 runs in 31 balls. Porel hit seven fours and one six in his innings. Captain Akshar Patel scored unbeaten 34 runs in 18 balls. Ashutosh Sharma scored 18 runs in 5 balls. Ashutosh made Delhi win the match by hitting a six. With this win, Delhi is still in the race for the playoffs.Dhruv Jurel- 53
