Jitesh Sharma stands in as RCB captain against Punjab Kings

Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma will captain his side today in its match against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala in the absence of Rajat Patidar.

According to reports, Patidar is injured and hadn’t travelled to Dharamshala for the PBKS game. There hasn’t been any official confirmation from RCB regarding the nature or the intensity of the injury.

After the toss, Jitesh said that the team expects Patidar to return to action in time for RCB’s next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jitesh has prior captaincy experience, having led RCB in a couple of games last year in Patidar’s absence and once for his former team Punjab Kings in 2024.
