The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have named left-arm pacer Kuldip Yadav as a replacement for the injured Khaleel Ahmed. He will be joining the side for the price of INR 30 lakhs.
Kuldip Yadav made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and has featured in three games. Khaleel Ahmed sustained a right quadriceps injury during the clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16.
The injury has been described as a high-grade partial tear with a stretch injury of the right recturs femoris tendon, along with a complete tear of the direct of the muscle.
Despite his absence, CSK had four wins out of last six games. However, the side has been hit with a long list of injury woes which includes, Nathan Ellis, Ayush Mhatre, Ramakrishna Ghosh and Jamie Overton.
Dewald Brevis also missed few games in the start of the season due to injury. Meanwhile, Spence Johnson and MS Dhoni are yet to make their appearance due to their respective injuries.
Despite a poor start, Chennai Super Kings made a brilliant comeback having 6 wins out of 11 games and is a strong contention for finishing in the top four.
CSK have shown resilience despite their set backs with a long list of injury concerns.CSK are currently with 12 points and sits in the fifth position of the IPL 2026 points table. Chennai Super Kings will be needing atleast two wins out of three games to confirm their playoff qualification.
On the other hand, RCB have bolstered their pace attack after adding Richard Gleeson as a replacement for Nuwan Thushara. He will be joining the side for a price of INR 1.6 crore.
Nuwan Thushara’s replacement comes after he withdrew the lawsuit he had filed against Sri Lanka Cricket after the board denied his NOC to participate in IPL 2026.
He has informed the Colombo District Court that he decided to drop the case as a major of the tournament had already passed.
Thushara also submitted an apology letter to SLC indicating a willingness to settle the dispute after he challenged the board’s decision, clamining their strict rules have threatned his livehood.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru currently sits in the top of the points table and have almost qualified for the playoffs. They still have two games and will be aiming for atleast a win to finish in the top two.
RCB will play their next game against Punjab Kings on May 17 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala.
