Chennai Super Kings batter Mahendra Singh Dhoni will visit London for treatment of his muscle tear injury, according to sources. He will take a call on his IPL future post recovery.
CSK were eliminated from the playoffs race of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
The defending champions suffered a 27-run defeat at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Dhoni scored 25 off 13 deliveries but was dismissed in the last over of the run chase.
According to IANS, the veteran would take a call on his future after his surgery in London.
“Dhoni might visit London for his muscle tear surgery which impacted him during the 17th season of the cash-rich league. He is not fit but wants to play cricket and he will decide about his future course of action after treatment. He is likely to recover in five to six months,” sources told IANS.
Chasing 219, Rachin Ravindra (61) and Ravindra Jadeja (42 not out) played good knocks but failed to get their team over the line.
With CSK’s disappointing display, fans and experts speculated that it could be the end of MS Dhoni, but star cricketeer refused to reveal anything about his future.
