3 Times RCB Lost IPL Final : Royal Challengers Bangalore team has reached the playoffs of IPL 2024. In the first 8 matches of this season, Bengaluru had won only 1 and lost 7 matches. It seemed certain for the team to be out of the playoffs, because if they had lost one more match, they would have been out of the race. However, after this, RCB won 6 consecutive matches and due to better net run rate, also secured a place in the playoffs. To go to the playoffs, RCB needed to defeat CSK by 18 runs in their last league match and they achieved this feat.

3.IPL 2009
RCB had made it to the finals during the second season of IPL itself. There were many excellent players in the team at that time. However, the team had to face defeat by 6 runs in the final match against Deccan Chargers Hyderabad. Batting first, Deccan Chargers had scored only 143 runs for 6 wickets. Harshal Gibbs scored the highest score of 53 runs for the team. However, in reply RCB could score only 137 runs after losing 9 wickets. Roelf van der Merwe scored the highest score of 32 runs for the team and Pragyan Ojha took 3 wickets for Hyderabad.
2.IPL 2011
RCB team also reached the final of IPL 2011 but then they had to face defeat from Chennai Super Kings. Playing first, Chennai made a huge score of 205 runs thanks to Murali Vijay's 95 runs. Chris Gayle was in great form for RCB at that time but MS Dhoni had sent Gayle to the pavilion without opening the account by bowling Ashwin in the very first over. After this, no batsman could play a big innings and the team could score only 147 runs and their dream of winning the trophy was shattered.
3.IPL 2016
RCB had to face defeat by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of IPL 2016. Sunrisers Hyderabad, playing first in this match, had made a huge score of 208 runs. In reply, RCB could score only 200 runs after losing 7 wickets. Chris Gayle had scored 76 runs on 38 balls and Virat Kohli had scored 54 runs on 35 balls but the rest of the batsmen were flopping and the team's dream of winning the trophy was shattered for the third time.
