Punjab Kings (PBKS) have seen their perfect start to the IPL 2026 season turn into chaos. Once it seemed like the playoff qualification was a mere formality, but after four successive losses, it seems the wheels are coming off. With just three games left, Punjab will have to pull up their socks and get back to winning ways.
Mumbai Indians (MI) are already out of the tournament, and the game on Thursday will be a good chance to give some unused stars a chance to play. After a dismal season, the former champions will be keen to sign off the campaign on a high. It is also a perfect chance for Mumbai to exact revenge for the humiliating loss suffered against the same opponents earlier in the season in front of their home fans.
Match: Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians, Match 58
Date and Time: 14th May, 7:30 PM
Venue: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala
Broadcast and Live Streaming: Star Sports network channels and JioHotstar App and Website
The last match at this venue saw over 400 runs being scored on what was a batting beauty. The captain winning the toss will look to bowl first, as there will be dew that will make gripping the ball difficult in the second half. Pacers will get lots of help with the new ball, as there will be plenty of swing on offer. Fans can expect yet another run-fest with the short boundaries and fast outfield.

Impact player – Raghu Sharma
Best batter – Ryan Rickelton
Despite his failure in the last game, the left-handed batter from South Africa has been MI’s best batter this season. Rickelton can score big runs, and the pitch in Dharamsala might aid him to sign off the season on a high. The left-handed batter has the talent to score runs to all corners of the park, and if he gets going, then the fans can expect some fireworks.
Best bowler – Arshdeep Singh
The left-arm seamer has always done well against the Mumbai Indians in the past, as seen at Wankhede Stadium, where he picked three wickets. Arshdeep Singh bowled well in the last game, picking 2/21 and putting the batters under pressure. Considering the MI batters aren’t at their best form at this moment, the seamer will want to cause more trouble with the new ball in his hand.
ipl 2026Punjab may have lost four successive matches, but their overall record against MI in the last few years has been good. The Kings will be keen to take advantage of the lack of confidence displayed by the Men in Blue and Gold this season and finally put an end to their woeful losing streak.
