Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal Launch Counterattack In RCB Chase

After the dismissal of Jacob Bethell, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal are leading the RCB’s 193-run chase against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 game played at Raipur.

The chase master smashed fifty and led the side from the front in Wednesday’s clash.

After being invited to bat first, Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen opened the innings while Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling attack.

Despite a good start, the duo could not convert the start as Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged the wicket of Finn Allen for 18 runs.

He got dismissed on a length ball where he outside edge as Jitesh Sharma picked the catch behind the wickets.

Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood bagged the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane for 19 runs. He got dismissed on short and quick around off as the ball got top edged as Josh Hazlewood bagged the catch.

With Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green at crease, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 56 runs in the powerplay.

The duo forged a 50-run partnership in 39 deliveries as KKR cross 100 run mark in their innings. However, Rasikh Salam bagged the wicket of Cameron Green for 32 runs.

He got bowled out on a cross seam delivery which brought an end to 68-run partnership. Rinku Singh who came to bat at No.5 joined Raghuvanshi to post a solid total for the side.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi smashed his fifty and went on to score 71 runs off 46 deliveries before his dismissal on a run out by the end of the innings.

The duo forged a 76-run partnership as the KKR scored 192 runs in their 20 over innings. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten with 49 runs off 29 deliveries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Rasikh Salam bagged one wicket each.

Chasing 193 runs, Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli opened the innings while Saurabh Dubey opened the bowling attack.

Kartik Tyagi bagged the first breakthrough dismissing Jacob Bethell for 15 runs. Devdutt Padikkal who came to bat at No.3, joined Kohli forging a solid partnership.
