Liam Dawson Retires From First-Class Cricket: A shocking news has come out from England cricket. England and Hampshire's experienced all-rounder Liam Dawson has suddenly announced his retirement from first-class cricket. Liam Dawson has taken this decision in the middle of the county cricket season. He has also given the reason behind this. Actually, Dawson has taken this decision to prolong his white-ball career. He will continue to play for Hampshire in T20 Blast and One-Day Cup.
Dawson, who played more than 200 first-class matches for Hampshire, scored more than 10,000 runs and also took more than 350 wickets. He played 4 Test matches for England, which included an unbeaten inning of 66 runs on debut against India. He scored 110 runs in 4 test matches for England and also took 8 wickets.
Announcing his retirement, Dawson said, 'This decision was not taken lightly, but the time felt right to extend white-ball cricket. It is a matter of pride for Hampshire to play 200 matches. I am fully committed to continuing the team's success in the white-ball format.

Let us tell you, the season of 2024 was the most memorable of Dawson's career in his first class career. He won the PCA Men's Player of the Year award, was named County Championship Player of the Year and was included in Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Year. He became the first player from Hampshire since 2006 to make it to this list. Apart from this, Dawson is fourth among the players who have scored the most runs for Hampshire in the 21st century.
