Punjab Kings will face Mumbai Indians in Match 58 of the Indian Premier Leagueat the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium on Thursday, May 14. Earlier this season, PBKS defeated MI at the Wankhede Stadium by comfortably chasing down a target of 196.
Punjab Kings head into the contest on the back of four consecutive defeats and will be desperate to return to winning ways to strengthen their playoff chances.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, PBKS are currently placed fourth in the points table with 13 points and remain firmly in the race for a playoff spot.Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have officially been eliminated from playoff contention alongside Lucknow Super Giants. With qualification no longer possible, MI will look to play for pride and experiment with different combinations in their remaining matches of the tournament.
Predicted Impact Players for Punjab Kings (PBKS):Harpreet Brar: He adds valuable balance to the Punjab Kings squad with his left-arm spin and useful lower-order batting ability.
If the Dharamsala pitch turns out to be on the drier side, Brar could become an important option for PBKS. His ability to contribute with the bat further strengthens his case for selection.Yash Thakur: He made his first appearance of the Indian Premier League recently and managed to pick up two wickets. Although he proved a bit expensive, the right-arm pacer showed his wicket-taking potential and could continue to play a role in the bowling attack.
Xavier Bartlett: He featured regularly during the first half of the season before losing his spot to Lockie Ferguson in the playing XI.
The Australian all-rounder remains a handy pace-bowling option who can also contribute useful runs down the order.Vishnu Vinod: He is a hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batter who enters the tournament after an impressive domestic campaign for Kerala. He currently serves as the backup to the in-form Prabhsimran Singh and provides additional depth to the batting unit.
Praveen Dubey: He is another bowling all-rounder who is yet to feature this season.
His leg-spin ability, along with his capability to score quick runs in the lower order, makes him a potential option if PBKS decide to tweak their combination. Predicted Impact Players for Mumbai Indians (MI):

Rohit Sharma: He has returned from injury and has been featuring as an Impact Player for Mumbai Indians in recent matches. The veteran batter has looked in solid touch, registering two half-centuries so far this season.
Mayank Rawat: He is highly rated finisher from Delhi, made his debut against Punjab Kings earlier this season but has not featured regularly since then. Apart from his power-hitting abilities, he can also contribute with useful off-spin.
Robin Minz: He has played two matches in the Indian Premier League so far and is still searching for consistency with the bat. The wicketkeeper-batter remains a promising young option for MI.
Shardul Thakur: He has featured in six matches this season. The experienced all-rounder produced his best performance in the opening game and continues to provide balance with both bat and ball.
Trent Boult: He has managed two wickets in five matches so far. The left-arm pacer will be eager to bounce back strongly and rediscover the form that has made him one of the most dangerous new-ball bowlers in T20 cricket.
