It was a fast bowlers’ day out at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where Gujarat Titans thumped Sunrisers Hyderabad by 82 runs.

Kagiso Rabada set up the game for Titans in the PowerPlay with three wickets after Hyderabad pacers made use of the conditions to restrict Gujarat for 168.

For SRH, Pat Cummins and Praful Hinge were the pick of the bowlers across phases.

GUJARAT TITANS

Shubman Gill: 1.5 — The GT captain couldn’t get going and fell in the third over of the innings, scoring just five runs off seven deliveries (1 four).

Sai Sudharsan: 6.5 — The reliable opener registered his fourth century of the season, playing a responsible innings before eventually falling for 61 off 44 balls (Five fours, two sixes).

If Buttler: 1.5 — The Englishman, too, found it hard to get going despite displaying an attacking intent. He fell trying to ramp the ball (7 off 11 balls; 1 four).

Washington Sundar: 6.5 – GT’s middle order batter scored his second half century to help the Titans finish with 168/5 from its 20 overs.

Washington was dismissed in the last over after scoring 50 off 33 balls (7 fours, 1 six).

Jason Holder: 8 — The West Indian all-rounder contributed 11 off 10 balls with the bat before picking three wickets in the second innings. (3/20 in 4 overs).

Nishant Sindhu: 5.5 — The youngster looked good while he lasted. Played some fantastic shots and displayed his potential (22 off 14 balls; 3 fours and 1 six).

Rahul Tewatia: 5th — He only faced one ball — the last delivery of the innings — and hit a four. He was then subbed out (4 off 1 ball; 1 four).

Rashid Khan: 5 — The leg-spinner only bowled five deliveries and picked the final wicket to finish the match (1/3 in 0.5 overs).

Kagiso Rabada: 10 — The South African pacer was at his lethal best and set up the game for his team inside the PowerPlay, removing Abhishek, Head, and Smaran (3/28 off 4 overs).

Mohammed Siraj: 8.5 — The fast bowler got Head out in the first over and finished it as a wicket maiden. He finished with 1/11 in 3 overs.

Prasidh Krishna: 6 — Coming back after a gap, the right-arm quick removed Salil Arora and Pat Cummins to finish with 3/23 in 3 overs.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

Abhishek Sharma: 1 — He began his innings with a six off first ball but was bowled three balls later (6 off 4 balls; 1 six).

Travis Head: 1 — After a couple of plays and misses, Head fell getting caught at the boundary (0 off 4 balls).

Ishan Kishan: 2.5 — The wicketkeeper-batter was also part of the top order collapse. He fell in the fourth over after hitting a six and a four for his 11 off 7 balls.

Heinrich Klaasen: 2.5 — Klaasen to dig SRH out of the collapse but wasn’t able to manage more than 14 off 16 balls (2 fours).

Salil Arora: 3 — After stalling the top order collapse for a few overs, Salil too found himself heading back to the dugout without much contribution to the scoreboard (16 off 13 balls; 3 fours).

Nitish Kumar Reddy: 2 — The all-rounder didn’t have much impact on the game. With the ball, he managed 0/27 in three overs and only scored 2 off 4 balls.

Smaran Ravichandran: 2 — He, too, found it tough to get going. Despite playing a couple of good shots, Smaran wasn’t able to put the pressure back on the opposition (9 off 15 balls; 1 four).

Pat Cummins: 8.5 — The SRH captain took the wicket of Nishant Sindhu when the GT batter was going great guns and controlled the flow of runs. Cummins registered figures of (1/20) from his four overs. He later managed 19 off 9 balls (2 sixes, 1 four).

Shivang Kumar: 3 — The wrist spinner bowled just the two overs today and was not effective, registering figures of 0/19. With the bat, Shivang only managed 4 off 6 balls.

Eshan Malinga: 1.5 – The Sri Lankan pacer leaked runs on a day when the rest of the SRH bowling unit flourished. Malinga went wicketless and recorded figures of 0/46 from his four overs.

Sakib Hussain: 5 — Sakib picked two crucial wickets of Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar, GT’s best batters of the day. The 21-year-old registered figures of 2/37 from his four overs.

Dust Hinge: 8 — Hinge was the pick of the bowlers for SRH today, dismissing Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler in the PowerPlay. The youngster impressed with figures of 2/21 from his three overs.
