IPL has become a platform for many players to make their mark and now Madhav Tiwari's name has also been added to that list. Madhav Tiwari made his debut on the IPL pitch only last season. But after that only debut match played against Mumbai Indians, he did not get a chance to play again that season. However, Delhi Capitals' trust in him remained intact. Who retained him for IPL 2026 and gave him a chance to play against Punjab Kings on 11 May. Madhav Tiwari lived up to the trust shown by the Delhi franchise 100 percent.
Madhav Tiwari showed an all-round game for Delhi Capitals in the match against Punjab Kings. With his powerful performance, he made the whole world aware of the all-rounder hidden within him. Madhav Tiwari, playing his first match in IPL 2026 and only the second match of his IPL career, dismissed two big batsmen like Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly by giving away 40 runs in 4 overs against Punjab Kings. After this, he also presented an example of his batting, when while chasing the target of 211 runs, he scored unbeaten 18 runs in 8 balls and led the team to victory.
Madhav Tiwari was chosen player of the match for this all-round game.Madhav Tiwari comes from Mauganj, a small town in Madhya Pradesh. But this small town player has a big attitude. In the beginning he only liked batting. Used to run away from bowling because it was tiring. But, then his coach made him realize his true strength, which helped in making him a complete cricketer.
Former Team India cricketer Amey Khursiya has played a big role in the career of Madhav Tiwari, who learned the art of cricket while living in Indore.
He shaped Madhav's career and helped him become a better all-rounder. Like Madhav Tiwari, Amay Khursiya also comes from Madhya Pradesh, who played 12 ODI matches for India. He played 10 of these matches in the year 1999. He scored 149 runs at an average of 13.54. Khursiya said goodbye to cricket in 2007. After this he entered the field of coaching and commentary. Now the question is whether Madhav Tiwari will be able to replace Hardik Pandya in Team India? At present Nitish Reddy and Shivam Dubey are in that race.
But Madhav Tiwari's stamina also cannot be ignored. That strength is visible in him. He looks confident from his body language. And, as he has also said after Delhi Capitals' win against Punjab Kings, he is 100 percent batsman and 100 percent bowler too.
