A blockbuster clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 awaits when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on May 12.
Both sides are in red-hot form and eyeing a crucial top-two spot in the points table.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been in sensational form, winning six of their last seven games and looking like an unstoppable force.
SRH have been leading the side really well with the bat as well. In the batting department, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have given blistering starts, while Heinrich Klaasen is doing the bulk of the work in the middle order and finishing roles.
The bowling department has also been impressive. Eshan Malinga has stepped up at the right time and the spin department has been handled well by Nitish Kumar Reddy and others.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have a similar story, a win will take them too to the top of points table.
Shubman Gill has once again done a fantastic job with the bat, well supported by Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler. In the bowling department, Rashid Khan has returned to form and has been brilliant, while Prasidh Krishna has been picking wickets in the powerplay, well supported by Mohammed Siraj.
Shubman Gill – Gill has scored over 400+ runs in this season. He often plays the role of anchor as well as aggressor when needed. He has been the backbone of the GT lineup and eyes will be on him once again.
Travis Head – Head has the ability to turn the game on its head when he gets going. With a strike rate of 174, he can trouble any bowling attack if he gets early runs.
Rashid Khan – Rashid is the key to GT’s success. If he picks wickets in the middle overs, he can dismantle any batting lineup with his variations and experience.
Heinrich Klaasen – Klaasen has been doing a phenomenal job in the middle and finishing overs, providing SRH with strong finishes.
Gujarat Titans: Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wk), Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Arshad Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj.
Impact Player: Prasidh Krishna
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (wk), Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora, Smaran Ravichandran, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Pat Cummins (c), Shivang Kumar, Eshan Malinga, Sakib Hussain.
Impact Player:Praful Hinge
Very tough to predict the winner with two strong sides eyeing a top spot on the points table.
GT have been a force at Narendra Modi Stadium, whereas SRH have got the ability to crush any bowling attack on their day.
But the batting-friendly surface in Ahmedabad can slightly favor Sunrisers Hyderabad, especially with their explosive top order.
Prediction: Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the match
