Delhi: Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Ambati Rayudu feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni's professional career is not over yet and he can make a comeback in the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. After CSK's defeat in the last league match of IPL 2024, five-time champion RCB was out of the tournament.

38-year-old Ambati said on Star Sports, “I don't think this is his last match. I don't think he would want it to end there. Even after being out, he looked a little disappointed. This is completely different from MS Dhoni, he just wanted to qualify and finish on a higher level, but you never know with MS Dhoni, he may come back next year.”
He further said, “With the impact player rule, it gives him a chance to be able to make an impact in the last few overs. It would be better if BCCI does not remove the impact player rule, because we still want to see MS Dhoni playing, so now it is up to BCCI whether we want to see MS Dhoni playing or not.”
