Travis Head has been remarkable for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2024. He has given several explosive starts to the Pat Cummins-led franchise. His opening partner has been equalling devastating in the ongoing season, with Hyderabad already qualifying for the playoffs.
Head and Abhishek are among the most successful opening pairs in the 17th season. Former India player Irfan Pathan has ranked Abhishek above Head.
In Sunrisers’ last league match against Punjab Kings, the Indian southpaw struck a breathtaking fifty to his team in the driving seat while chasing 215.
He scored 66 runs off 28 balls, packed with 6 sixes and 5 fours. Irfan heaped massive praise on the young Indian batter.
“Abhishek Sharma is ahead of Travis Head. He has performed better than the Australian player. Despite being an uncapped Indian player, Sharma showed maturity and didn’t allow the Head to go past him in terms of performances,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
Abhishek is likely to play for India after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
