Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs to reach the play-offs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. RCB wanted to defeat Chennai by 18 runs. Although Chennai needed 35 runs to win in the last over, they needed 17 runs to reach the playoffs. Star pacer Yash Dayal was bowling the last over. Dhoni hit a powerful six on the very first ball. After the match, Karthik said in the video shared by RCB's official X account, “I think the best thing that happened today was Dhoni's 110 meter six. Dhoni's six sent the ball out of bounds and we got the new ball. It was a good ball to bowl and yes Yash Dayal also bowled well.”

If we talk about the match, Dhoni came to bat at number eight in the match against RCB. He scored 25 runs on 13 balls. The great finisher hit three fours and a six in his short innings. He made a partnership of 61 runs with Jadeja for the seventh wicket.

CSK needed 201 runs to reach the playoffs and could score only 191 runs. The team lagged behind by just 10 runs. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore, batting first, scored 218 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, in response, Chennai Super Kings team could only score 191 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten after scoring 42* runs on 22 balls, but could not lead the team to victory.

What was the equation for both the teams to qualify for the playoffs?
