Ever since Vaibhav Suryavanshi entered the IPL, this young batsman has created a stir with his batting. Vaibhav started it with his first ball in IPL, when he hit a six on it. Since then, whatever new and young player is coming to IPL, a similar start is being expected from him. Now 22 year old Akshat Raghuvanshi has done something similar. The 22-year-old batsman playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026 hit a powerful six on the very first ball of his career.

Lucknow gave a chance to young batsman Akshat against Mumbai Indians on 4th May at Wankhede Stadium. This batsman was bought by Lucknow in the auction this year but he did not get even a single chance in the last 8 matches. Seeing the team's continuous poor performance, captain Rishabh Pant and coach Justin Langer finally gave Akshat a chance to debut. Akshat's batting also came and he also showed a slight glimpse of his ability.

Lucknow's top order made an explosive start in this match and scored 141 runs in just 10 overs. Then in the 11th over, captain Rishabh Pant was out and right-handed batsman Akshat Raghuvanshi came to bat as the sixth batsman.

Now everyone wanted to see how Akshat would bat but hardly anyone would have expected what happened. Akshat, facing spinner Will Jacques, surprised everyone by hitting a long six outside the long on boundary on his very first ball in the IPL.

This feat of Akshat reminded Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who hit a six on his first ball while making his debut last season. However, unlike Suryavanshi, Raghuvanshi did not last long but he showed that he has the ability to play big shots. Raghuvanshi was out after scoring 11 runs in 7 balls and coincidentally his wicket was taken by leg spinner Raghu Sharma, whose wicket was only his second match and first in the IPL.
