Former Bangladesh captain and current board president Tamim Iqbal has made a revelation which is really surprising. Tamim Iqbal told that the cleaning staff of Bangladesh Cricket Board is paid half the fixed amount. Bangladesh Cricket Board has fixed the salary of cleaners at 650 Taka per day i.e. Rs 500 in Indian Rupees but BCB officials are doing scam even in Rs 500. Tamim Iqbal himself revealed this while talking to the media. Tamim Iqbal told how instead of 650 taka, only 300 taka are being given to the sanitation workers.
Tamim Iqbal said while talking to Bangladeshi media, 'I heard from the cleaning lady woman that she is being given 300 Taka daily. I went to BCB office yesterday and came to know that 650 taka should be paid to the cleaners. Then why are they being given so much money? I was surprised. BCB has its own cleaning staff but during the series, BCB gives the contract to a third party through tender. This company takes the tender, gets the money and then gives the money to the clearers as per its own and keeps the remaining profit for itself.
Tamim Iqbal said that to make this system transparent, now the sanitation workers will have their own bank accounts. Their salaries will be sent directly to their accounts. Bills will be passed only after the proof of salary payment is submitted to the Finance Department of BCB. Tamim Iqbal said that as a player he has raised his voice against these irregularities and now it is his responsibility to remove them. Tamim said, 'I have not come here just to have fun by becoming BCB President. For the last 17-18 years, I have been speaking out against these irregularities, if I am not able to correct them now then my earlier words will have no meaning.
Ever since Tamim became the BCB President, he has taken many big steps. Tamim has increased the salary of Bangladesh women cricketers. He will be given 10 thousand taka for T20, 15 thousand taka for 50 overs and 20 thousand taka for first-class. The monthly salary of top 36 women players has been increased from Rs 30 thousand to Rs 40 thousand. The salary of male players was also increased according to their category.
First-class match fee was increased from 70,000 to 1 lakh taka. Apart from this, a promise has also been made to improve the facilities of Bangladesh's stadium. Arrangements for free water have also been made for the fans.
