Royal Challengers Bengaluru are facing massive flak for not shaking hands with MS Dhoni after the match. The hosts won the contest by 27 runs to qualify for the playoffs but the defending champions were eliminated. Dhoni waited for the RCB players to shake hands but the veteran decided to walk off after none of the rival cricketers came to meet him.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan and renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle slammed the Faf du Plessis-led franchise for their behaviour.

“RCB have a habit of taking on opposition and that’s why they are are the bottom. I can understand their behaviour as they are desperate to qualify for the next round and want to win the Indian Premier League. They have a lot of supporters but the team has also angered many,” Michael Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

Harsha Bhogle also questioned the attitude of RCB players.

“I haven’t seen pictures but even if you have won a World Cup, you should leave behind all the emotions and shake hands. It is one of the best things about our game,” Harsha Bhogle said.

Vaughan feels Bengaluru players should have shown decency to shake hands with the iconic player.

“It was the time to show game awareness. I know RCB players were busy in celebrations but they should have gone to MS Dhoni to shake hands. They should have shown decency as I don’t want to be a player the next morning thinking that I missed the chance to shake hands with the iconic MS Dhoni if he announces retirement,” Michael Vaughan said.
