Chennai Super Kings have kept their hopes alive by winning some matches in IPL 2026. But a big disappointment of the team's fans still persists. The reason for this disappointment is former captain MS Dhoni, the wait to see whom in this season is not over yet and this is also going to continue for the time being. This is because Dhoni has not gone to Delhi with the team for the next match of Chennai, where it has to face Delhi Capitals. This has raised the question whether 'MSD' will play any matches this season or not?
The 48th match of IPL 2026 will be played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday 5th May at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital New Delhi. The entire Chennai team reached Delhi for this match but according to the report of Cricbuzz, Dhoni did not go with the team this time too. According to the information, Dhoni is still in Chennai where he is trying to recover completely from his injury.
Let us tell you that this is not the first time that CSK has gone out of the city for a match without Dhoni.
Recently, Chennai's batting coach Michael Hussey had revealed that Dhoni is not going with the team for this reason so that the team composition is not tampered with or his presence does not spoil the team's focus due to all the attention being focused on him. After a bad start, Chennai has recently started winning some matches and the team remains in the race for the playoffs.Dhoni suffered a calf injury just before the start of this season, due to which he has been out of action ever since. Initially it was believed that he would not be able to play only 3-4 matches but since then CSK has played 9 matches and he is not a part of any match.
This has raised the question whether fans will not get a chance to see Dhoni in the entire season. It has been told in the report that Chennai officials are hopeful that Dhoni will be available to play before the end of the season.
