Mumbai Indians managed just 159 for 7 in their crucial IPL 2026 match against the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. CSK spinner Noor Ahmad dismissed two batters and conceded just 26 runs from his four overs. Anshul Kamboj took three scalps for 32 runs, with Naman Dhir amassing 57 runs off 37 balls. Captain Hardik Pandya was off colour once again, posting just 18 runs off 23 deliveries after winning the toss.

Despite their struggles, Mumbai scripted a new record, becoming the first franchise to cross the 50,000-run mark in T20 cricket. MI have been a part of 286 games so far in the shortest format of the game.

Somerset (48,244 runs in 303 T20 matches) and  Royal Challengers Bengaluru (47,304 runs in 295 T20 games) are in the second and third spots, respectively.

Mukesh Choudhary was brilliant in the first over, conceding just 1 run, while the debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh took a brilliant catch of Will Jacks. The England batter tried to play a big shot but was unable to connect properly, with Ramakrishna diving to complete the catch, leaving the home fans happy and satisfied.

MI have been marred by the poor form of Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik, and Jasprit Bumrah. The four World Cup winners are finding it hard to contribute in the 19th season of the tournament.

Ryan Rickelton (37 off 24) and Suryakumar (21 off 12) had a chance to take their franchise to a big total, but the opposite numbers undid the two.

Tilak (5) and Robin Minz (5) were disappointed with the bat. Trent Boult (7 off 2) and Krish Bhagat (3 off 6) remained not out.
