Rakmakrishna Ghosh Debut: Many players are debuting in the IPL 2026 season. There are some whose IPL career account was opened at the beginning of the season itself. In the match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, the wait ended for fast bowler Ramakrishna Ghosh, who did not take much time to make his impact. Tall pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh made his debut in the 44th match of IPL 2026 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. in this match Chennai She was bowling first, so Ghosh did not have to wait long for her bowling. After completion of 8 overs of the innings, he got a chance to bowl for the first time in the 9th over. His start was also strong and in his first over, Ghosh gave only 7 runs including fours.
Due to good bowling in the first over, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad gave him the next over immediately and Ramakrishna Ghosh did not disappoint.
This season, he did not get a chance in the last 8 matches of Chennai but his luck opened in the 9th match and then he took the first wicket on his 10th ball.He hit fours on the first two balls of his second over (11th of the innings) but Suryakumar Yadav became his victim on the fourth ball. Mumbai star Surya played a cut shot but Dewald Brevis, posted at deep backward point, took an easy catch. Surya scored 21 runs in 12 balls.
Along with this, Ghosh also opened his wicket account in IPL.
But even before his bowling excellence, he had already impressed with his fielding. Ghosh took an excellent catch of Will Jacques in the second over of the innings itself. This is the second season of 28 year old Ramakrishna Ghosh in IPL. Last season, he was bought by Chennai for Rs 50 lakh but he did not get any opportunity in the entire season. This right-arm fast bowler plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket, where he had a record performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. In a match against Himachal Pradesh, Ghosh took 7 wickets for 42 runs in a spell of 9.4 overs. This is the best bowling record for Maharashtra in the history of this tournament. Ghosh took 28 wickets in 13 first class matches, 21 wickets in 11 List-A and only 2 wickets in 9 T20 matches.
