Former Indian Premier League (IPL) finalist Delhi Capitals posted a much-needed win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Veteran Indian star Ravindra Jadeja was involved in one of the most talked-about moments of the match, which went viral on social media.
The incident occurred after Jadeja was coming out to bat after Dhruv Jurel was out for 42 runs in the 12th over. On spotting Jadeja walk out to bat, Kuldeep Yadav was quick to make his way to his Indian teammate. The 37-year-old began to threaten Delhi’s spinner by swinging his bat around.
Kuldeep held his ground as he was seen giving the incoming batter a slight shove.
The action continued when the umpire was checking RR veteran’s bat. It was all in fun, though, as Nitish Rana was also seen laughing in the background during the banter.Ravichandran Ashwinthe former Indian spinner, was in awe of the knock played by his former teammate in the RR vs DC game. KL Rahul scored 75 with the help of six boundaries and five huge sixes from just 40 balls. The 34-year-old also added 110 runs for the first wicket with Pathum Nissanka.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the 39-year-old said: “Rahul always had this side to him. What he is showing right now is that he can play aggressive cricket as well, but there is no doubt that he (Rahul) has always been a fabulous player.” With this knock, the batter has reached the top of the run-scoring charts and reclaimed the orange cap.
Ex-Indian batter has named Axar Patel’s side as one of the teams that are in contention to make it to the playoffs. The win over RR has given the visiting side two key points, which have seen them rise to sixth in the table with eight points and five matches left to play this season.
The 48-year-old, while reviewing the game on his YouTube channel, said, “The chase was very clinical, and I had also said earlier that DC looks like a dangerous side, and that is why they are one of the contenders for the playoffs.
That was seen in their performance today.”
