Chennai Super Kings need a win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to qualify for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2024. The defending champions have 14 points from 13 matches and a victory over the Bengaluru-based franchise will take them to the next round.

Former CSK player Harbhajan Singh is unhappy with the five-time champions for not using a match-winner properly in the 17th season.

According to Bhajji, Chennai should have given more chances to Rachin Ravindra instead of Ajinkya Rahane. Despite Rahane’s flop show, he was persisted with, which surprised the legendary spinner.

Rachin was a part of Playing XI in the first few games but he was dropped after a couple of failures. Singh thinks Chennai would have achieved success had they backed the New Zealand all-rounder.

“Rachin Ravindra was not given a long run. You generally don’t see this with Chennai Super Kings. They made a big mistake by going ahead with Ajinkya Rahane. Had Chennai included Rachin in their playing unit in more games, there was a chance of him delivering better performances. For me, this was the biggest mistake committed by CSK,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
