Delhi team was all out for just 75 runs in the last match. In such a situation, the Delhi team led by Akshar Patel would like to make a comeback. But this contest is not going to be easy for Delhi. Delhi team will take the field without one of its star players. This player is completely fit, but due to a rule of IPL, he will not be able to play the match.
Actually, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has completely recovered from his head injury and has also started bowling practice in the nets. But due to ICC's concussion related rules, he will not be available to play in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Angidi suffered a serious injury during the match against Punjab Kings on 25 April. While trying to take a catch, he fell on his head, after which he had to be taken to the hospital. However, he was discharged from the hospital early.
Delhi Capitals had included Vipraj Nigam in the playing eleven as a concussion substitute in place of Lungi Ngidi due to injury. According to the new ICC rule which came into force in June 2025, a player who misses a match due to concussion is required to stay away from cricket activities for at least 7 days, this rule is also followed in IPL. In this case, the injury occurred on 25th April, hence Ngidi will not be able to play against Rajasthan Royals on 1st May.
Lungi Ngidi was also not a part of Delhi's last match, in which the team had to face a big defeat against RCB.
However, in this match, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc can compensate for his shortcomings. Due to injury, Starc has not played a single match yet. But he is now completely fit and it is believed that he will also be a part of the playing 11 against Rajasthan.
