The batting statistics in IPL 2026 are showing an interesting trend, where the dominance of the Indian batsmen is clearly visible. A total of 13,100 runs have been scored in the first 38 matches, out of which 9,066 runs have come from the bats of Indian players, which is 69.21% of the total runs. This is considered to be the biggest contribution by Indian batsmen so far in the first 38 matches of any season.
In comparison, till the same stage last season, 12,858 runs were scored, in which the contribution of Indian batsmen was 66.25%, whereas in the initial years of IPL this figure was around 50% and in 2009 it had fallen to 47.51%.Indian batsmen are ahead this season not only in terms of runs but also in terms of strike rate. This year, the average strike rate of Indian batsmen has been 154.17, while foreign batsmen have been able to score runs at a strike rate of 144.59. Earlier, this had happened only in 2010 and 2011, when Indian batsmen had scored faster runs than foreign players.
Indian players have also performed better in terms of average, where their average is 29.44, while the average of foreign batsmen is 26.5.Talking about sixes, here too the Indian batsmen were in good form. All Indian players are included in the top-10 and Vaibhav Suryavanshi Has hit maximum 32 sixes. At the same time, no foreign batsman has hit more than 16 sixes. It is clear from these figures that the performance of the Indian batsmen this season has not only been impressive, but they have also taken a clear lead over the foreign players.
